I really liked the original GW, and bioware is a MMO neophyte. I see a lot of cool ideas coming out of GW2, not as many from SWotR, hence my interest in GW2.
I've got a couple of names I've got lined up for GW2, hopefully they aren't taken.
They're saying closed beta by the end of the year. Hopefully an open beta sometime early next year.
The coverage from Gamescom has been ridiculous. The dynamic event system where the game world actually changes, and how you (and other players) interact with the world actually changes the game, looks really exciting.
It's the first time I've heard a MMO developer use the word dynamic in the correct sense. They have very visceral and fast combat (from what has been shown) and the artwork looks fantastic.
I check the website a couple of times a week to see if they've got beta signups yet. I might grab a couple of months of SWotR while I wait for GW2 to come out, but it's definitely at the top of my list.
I think that GW2 would present some nice options for a casual/raid guild like Z. Because events scale dynamically whether we're short or have more than 25 (hahah, I know) we can go and play the same content. Big outdoor bosses can be coordinated in-guild if we see other players slacking at different parts of a particular encounter, this way everyone gets to participate in the 'raiding' experience.
The whole game seems to promote social activity and shies away from elitist behaviour.
I think that limiting the most challenging encounters in explorable dungeons (5 man encounters) is a good fit for Z guilders too.
