Code of Conduct
He relaxed in the Astranaar tavern. Elbows on the table, ale in hand, he waited patiently at the appointed rendezvous point. He was early. The problem with being early, ironic it seems, is that no one is there to appreciate it. It did not matter to this soldier, he appreciated the break. Soaking in his surroundings, this Rogue was a bit suspicious of the two men in the corner dressed in the tabard of a local guild, and made it a note to keep his eye on them.
The doors swung open, it was a dark evening; No rain, it was not that kind of evening, but a little darker then usual, and a little colder. A human entered the tavern`s sitting room dressed in a full suit of Valor, his shield and armor giving no indication of allegiance. Lingering his gaze a bit long upon the two in the corner, the soldier approached the Rogue's table. Taking a seat opposite to the at ease guild spokesman, the mercenary soldier leaned in close.
"We swear allegiance to your king and we all get paid." He starred into the Rogue's eyes, leaned in even closer. "Today. We want half up front."
The Rogue casually tossed a sack of coins that slide across the table. "All that you plunder belongs to you and your men, but..." He paused for emphasis. "We demand you give back; ten percent." The mercenary opened his mouth as if to contest the figure, then thought better of it when he caught a glimpse of the Rogue's dagger in his sleeve. "Then it is agreed."
Both the men rose and shook hands.
Up until now, a CoC really hasn't been needed for our small guild being most of us already understood common sense and decency. Even now, I would still like to think many of us already know how to act in public and around others, but since we have been growing recently, the time has come to put down a set of core "rules" for us to live by. I would like to keep them simple and reasonable:
- Chatting - Avoid language that is unacceptable in the general public (f-word, slander, fighting for the sake of fighting, repetitive spamming, etc). If someone asks you to change the subject or refrain from certain comments, you should do as requested within reason. This includes guild chat, general chat, and the forums.
- Raiding - The leader of the raid makes the rules but they should be done beforehand. Any questions you have on the rules should be run by the leader of the raid. "Ninja-ing" on purpose will result in a removal from the guild. Accidents however do happen. If the incident is perceived an accident, a warning will be given. Compensation in the form of an apology and/or monetary may be required depending on the case.
- PvP - We play on a PvE server. Show respect to your fellow Horde. This means no corpse camping, no newbie ganking, no being disrespectful with emotes (/fart, /spit, /rude, etc are uncalled for).
- Twinking/Powerleveling - The endgame is extremely group based and the leveling portion of the game is the time to learn how best to play your class in a group setting. For this reason, Z Guild does not promote "power leveling", "twinking", and other forms of higher level players cheating a lower level player through content.
- Gameplay - Remember your actions reflect on our guild as a whole. If someone treats you unfairly (including the opposing faction), returning the favor can often make you and us look bad. Try to ignore it or move on without letting it bother you. Sometimes talking to the person or a guild officer can help, but don't feel as though since you were wronged you can in turn wrong others. Basically all the "do not be a jackass" rules fall in this category.
- Your Account - You are expected to keep your account information confidential. If you allow your account to be used by someone in your household, you are expected to monitor such usage and agree to be ultimately responsible for any actions made by your characters. In addition, on the occasions you allow someone else to use your character, please inform one of the officers, so they may know who is "behind the scenes."
Anything else you think is vital or should be changed for our CoC? Contact the officers. We reserve the right to change anything at anytime while keeping within our base core values.
