Event: Black Temple Adventures This Weekend (7/25-7/27) |
It has been almost three months since we first tried our hand in the Black Temple. It is time to return this weekend and see how far we have come!
Okay, so I'll be honest, perhaps we won't even kill a boss, but we won't know until we try and of course NEW CONTENT is always a plus. We will be going Friday, July 25th, for sure, and we will continue on Saturday and Sunday depending on progress. Be there!

Event: Trivia-For-Gold Night this Tuesday (7/8) |
Every so often, we take over guild chat to play a little trivia. The idea is simple. Trivia questions are asked on guild chat. The first one with the correct answer wins 10 gold, which will immediately be mailed to them. The questions are from a huge pool of categories and stolen off the Internet.
Trivia-for-gold night is this Tuesday, July 8th, at 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST, and it will last approximately one hour. Drop in anytime during this hour for your chance to win. There is even a special grand prize... Access to guild chat is the only requirement to play.

It was an average Sunday afternoon with just enough people to fill a raid. Sprawl was running late, but we managed to drop Lurker without much fanfare.
We decided to take a gamble and go for Leo this week. If we succeeded, it meant Tier 5 gloves and a chance against the Fathom Lord for Tier 5 pants. If we failed, it meant no Tier 5 for anyone this week in SSC. Needless to say, we succeeded on the third attempt! Last up is Lady Vashj herself...

We started the night pretty weak. We were short a few people, so we decided to head off after the Void Reaver. We've proven we can drop this guy undermanned, so it was a typical walk in the park (after we wiped once).
After a bit of a long wait for trash to respawn, we went after Solarian, our second boss in The Eye. On our second attempt, Solarian was no more and Z Guild added another notch to its bedpost. Nice work team.

Announcements: Kaz'rogal, boss 3 of Mount Hyjal, "3-manned"! (5/30) |

It was a great night. First we downed Rage Winterchill, the first boss in Mount Hyjal, in a single shot. Then we did the same to boss two, and proceeded to farm our epic gems.
Boss three's trash gave us a bit of trouble. After three attempts on Kaz'rogal, we decide to stay a little bit past 10 PM for one more attempt. It was close, we almost didn't make it. At 5% health remaining, we were all dead except for a lone Rogue, a single Druid healer, one holy Priest and the Warchief Thrall...

It being a holiday weekend, we decided to visit Zul'Aman Monday evening. Our goals were to attempt a 3-kill Timed Event and finish the instance.
In Z Guild record breaking time, we downed the Eagle boss, Bear boss and Dragonhawk boss with 6 minutes to spare. We continued the night and finished the dungeon in a record 2 hours and 45 minutes for a complete Zul'Aman clear. Nice job all.

Event: 3-Hour Karazhan Clear (5/25) |
A number of our friends decided to forgo raiding and enjoy the sun this Memorial Sunday. Instead of our usual 25-man raid, we decided to go for a "speed" Karazhan raid with only one break.
We ran a grand total of 3 hours and 16 minutes for all of the bosses. We wiped once on Nightbane, wierd aggro problem, and Prince, bad infernal placement, each. The Curator fight was probably the biggest jaw-dropper as we did him in one evocation cycle. The shade was pretty fun too when at 40% the elemental spawned, we ignored them and just burned down Aran. Nice job.
A second Karazhan group worked on a few bosses on the side, but only had the opportunity to drop a few of the bosses due to group make-up. Congratulations Fenner on winning Attunmen's epic riding mount!

After celebrating our one year anniversary last month, it has become apparent that Z Guild needs to take a break from organized Karazhan runs and focus exclusively on 25-man content.
That is right, no more Karazhan on the official raiding roster. I encourage you guys to play around during the week in Karazhan, but focus your efforts on weekend raiding in the 25-man dungeons. Zul'Aman will be regulated as our "new Karazhan" and will be run on tentatively on Wednesday evenings.

Event: Z Guild Returns to the Molten Core! (5/2) |
We were short the required number to hit up the usual 25-man, so we took the opportunity to visit a retro 40-man raid dungeon, the Molten Core! It was a fun night. We, of course, one-shotted every boss, including Ragnaros, in under two hours. It was good fun for all.
In an old Z Guild (and Elysian Conclave) tradition, we told all the Molten Core newbies of mysterious orbs that you can only get once. We of course all have these orbs, but you need to go grab them. Just run through that lava looking doorway over there and loot the chest... we got a record five newbies killed this evening! Much love for all of them.
